Adventure Therapy

Adventure Therapy encourages individuals to step outside their comfort zones, face real-world challenges, and apply problem-solving and communication skills in real-time situations. The activities involved are often designed to push participants beyond their usual limits, fostering a sense of accomplishment, empowerment, and personal growth.

Adventure Therapy helps Youth-at-Risk by using Outdoor Experiential Learning experiences to develop essential coping strategies to tackle trauma, behavioral issues, and challenging environments.

We understand that every individual’s path to growth is unique. Our Adventure Therapy programme is customized to suit the needs of a participant — from the activities we offer to the level of challenge and support provided. Let us know your objectives and we will craft activities to suit.

Objectives could include:

  • Motor and Social Skills Development: Activities are specifically designed to improve fine and gross motor skills, as well as communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
  • Sensory Awareness: Participants learn to tune into their senses—sound, sight, touch, taste, and smell—during various outdoor challenges, helping them stay grounded and engaged in the moment.
  • Independence and Self-Reliance: A key objective of adventure therapy is to empower youth to become more self-reliant, teaching them how to manage tasks on their own and fostering a sense of accomplishment and self-worth.

Orienteering Race is an activity that brings out the key skill of developing the participants to be able to use google maps on their phone to navigate their way around. Some participants rely on their guardians to go around places and together with the school, we design a route that we have the students to learn how to use google maps, MRT map, Park Map, Mall directory to go around and complete some challenge stations which involves other lifeskills.

Some of the current clients that we are working closely with now are, Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and APSN.

Adventure Therapy

Adventure Therapy is a form of experiential learning that involves various types of adventure. It uses the raw experience gained from the outdoors to help individuals face and overcome emotional issues, addictions, behavioral problems, and many other challenges. It also helps participants develop important life skills that can benefit them throughout their lives.

Here in CAMP CHALLENGE, we facilitate character development through our high impact and values-centric programs, helping youths grow with the right attitude and social skills. Using our expertise in outdoor adventure, we can assist in finding out the needs of the participants and crafting out a suitable program for them.

National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) as a Platform

Using NYAA as a platform, we will be focusing on various components which allow the youths to gain important behavioral principles that will benefit them holistically. NYAA has 5 segments (Service, Adventurous Journey, Skills, Physical Recreation and Residential Project); these are also the segments which our Adventure Therapy programs encompass.

Through outdoor adventure activities, we will use various debriefing methods to understand and find out more about our participants. Our aim is to create a community which provide support for the youths.

Our Adventure Therapy programmes include, but are not limited to:

  • Sailing
  • Dragon boat
  • Kayaking
  • Rock climbing
  • Abseiling
  • Orienteering
  • Land and Sea expeditions
  • Service learning (Local and overseas)
  • And many more!
