27 Oct Inside BIC 72: How Youths Found Leadership Through Adventure at CAMP CHALLENGE
A 3-day journey of growth, teamwork, and leadership that shaped tomorrow’s outdoor instructors.
On 10–12 October 2025, participants from all walks of life gathered at CAMP CHALLENGE for an unforgettable 3-day, 2-night experience: the Basic Instructor Course (BIC 72). Designed for aspiring outdoor instructors aged 18 and above, the course went beyond theory and technical skills. It gave participants the chance to discover what true leadership, teamwork, and resilience really mean.
Learning by Doing
At CAMP CHALLENGE, we believe leadership is not taught in classrooms; it’s experienced. Through a series of outdoor challenges, participants learned to communicate effectively, manage group dynamics, and step into the role of an instructor.
Each day brought fresh adventures, hands-on facilitation practice, and real-time feedback from experienced CAMP CHALLENGE Instructors. By the end of the course, participants not only gained practical skills but also the confidence to lead and inspire others in the field.
What Participants Had to Say
“The Basic Instructor Course was an eye-opening experience. It gave me a real sense of what it’s like to be both an instructor and a participant. We faced challenges that pushed us to think critically and work together to find solutions. It wasn’t just about learning skills; it was about growing together as a team.”
— Brian Foo, BIC 72 Participant
“My experience for BIC 72 was enjoyable and memorable. I made friends along the journey and overcame my fears through the activities conducted. Thanks to the instructors for making this a fruitful and adventurous experience for all of us.”

More Than a Course, A Community
Beyond the skills and certifications, BIC 72 fostered meaningful friendships and a strong sense of community. Participants discovered the importance of collaboration, empathy, and shared responsibility—essential qualities for any instructor guiding others through Adventure Learning.
Every laugh, challenge, and reflection session contributed to something greater: a community of future leaders ready to inspire the next generation.
