27 Oct Inspiring Aspirations: Janna’s Gold Journey with Heart and Purpose
On 6 October 2025, Siti NuruzZahrah Jannatul ‘Asyiqin Putri Zulkiffle (Janna), our passionate team member from CAMP CHALLENGE, proudly received the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Gold Award — the nation’s highest youth accolade — presented by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Minister of Education, Mr. Desmond Tan.
Among the many awardees, Janna was handpicked to share her NYAA journey with both the President and the Minister, where she spoke about her service learning experiences with special needs youth in the outdoors. Her heartfelt story of inclusion and perseverance reflected not only her personal values but also the very spirit of CAMP CHALLENGE — Inspiring Aspirations through Adventure and Service.
Throughout her NYAA Gold journey, Janna embraced challenges that shaped her into a stronger, more empathetic leader. She contributed over 70 hours of service, facilitating outdoor and adventure therapy programmes for beneficiaries from the Singapore Deaf Association and Boys’ Home. These experiences taught her the importance of patience, compassion, and creative facilitation when working with youth of diverse needs.
Her Adventurous Journey was one of courage and discovery — sailing from Raffles Marina to Lazarus Island, dragon boating across open waters, and camping under the stars. Each wave and challenge strengthened her resilience and leadership, showing that true adventure begins when we step beyond our comfort zone.
In the Skills segment, Janna honed her water-based expertise, earning her SeaOPS 1-Star Sea Kayaking Instructor certification, empowering her to guide others safely and confidently on the water.
Reflecting on her achievement, Janna shared,
“Receiving the NYAA Gold Award is one of the proudest moments of my life. This journey has taught me that service is not just about giving, but growing — growing in empathy, resilience, and purpose.”
