08 Jul Real Adventures, Real Growth: Inside CAMP CHALLENGE’s June Holiday CAMP for Young Explorers
This June holidays, six enthusiastic young CAMPers aged 5 to 10 kicked off their school break with an unforgettable 2-day, 1-night adventure at CAMP CHALLENGE’s June Holiday CAMP, held at KOKOMO Beach Club.
Designed to provide a meaningful outdoor experience in a safe, age-appropriate setting, the CAMP combines fun and learning through a series of engaging activities. From the moment the CAMPers arrived, it was all systems go. Excited faces, new friendships forming, and a sense of anticipation set the tone for two days filled with hands-on exploration and personal growth.
One of the key highlights was Archery Combat, a fast-paced activity that tested the children’s focus, coordination, and teamwork. With safety gear on and instructors guiding them through each round, the CAMPers quickly picked up the basics and had a great time cheering one another on.
The Junior MasterChef session saw campers working in teams to prepare simple, satisfying meals while picking up basic kitchen skills. They took pride in their creations and, naturally, enjoyed tasting them. Another key highlight was the Low Elements Challenge, where their teamwork and communication were tested. Specially designed for the age group, the activities allowed every child to contribute and gain confidence through shared success.
In the evening, campers learned to set up their own shelter by pitching tents, gaining both practical skills and a sense of independence. This was followed by S’more Roasting, a cosy session of bonding and storytelling, before we turned in for the night.
Rise and Shine!
The next morning started on a reflective note with the Nature Diary activity, where children observed their natural surroundings and published these through drawing and writing.
The June Holiday CAMPers may have been a small in size, but BIG on Impact. With a low camper-to-instructor ratio, each child received close attention and support. Beyond the fun and energy that follows a group of fledgling champions, the CAMP also builds confidence, social skills, and resilience in a safe and encouraging environment.
At CAMP CHALLENGE, we believe in creating meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire aspirations and grow. This CAMP was a great reminder of the power of simple, well-designed programmes that speak directly to the needs and interests of children.
