Vicky is from a little village in Hertfordshire, England. She studied at Durham University and graduated with a BSc in psychology in June 2007. After graduation she spent time volunteering across Central America for 9 months. She worked in a Children’s Centre in Leon, a Guatemalan Community Centre and was also involved in Turtle Conservation in Soropta. One of her favourite memories from her time in Central America is climbing Telica – a volcano in Nicaragua - by moonlight, and seeing the sun rise over the crater! Vicky speaks good Spanish and knows some basic sign language, and is now slowly picking up words in Malay and Chinese too!
Vicky has been working with children and young people for over ten years, and for the last 8 has worked in a summer play scheme for children with disabilities. She joined CAMP CHALLENGE as an international instructor in February 2009, thus combining her passion for travel with a chance to work with youth in an outdoor adventure setting. She enjoys being active, is a keen rugby player, and loves the outdoor-adventure side of her job. During her free time, she aims to see as much of Asia as possible, and hopes to travel in Africa, Australia and South America in the future.
